Description
The GYFTY optical cable is intended for outdoor application that needs non-metallic construction, water-blocking, and long-lasting mechanical performance. Coloured optical fibres are held in high-modulus loose tubes which are filled with thixotropic water-blocking gel to avoid water penetration and mechanical damage.
An inner glass fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) core provides structural stiffness and up to 1500 N tensile strength without inducing electromagnetic interference. Loose tubes and filling parts are helically stranded around the FRP core to form a tight, circular core. Water-blocking gel fills voids internally, and a polyethylene outer jacket guards the cable from the environment, including UV light.
